HEAD SKILL'S TRAINER: ANDY 

Andy has played basketball since the age of 8yrs old.

Driving his neighbours crazy as he spent most of his time playing basketball on his drive way. His hard work and dedication paid off as he played for Ware Rebels in the National Junior League(U17) & Herts County team under Coach Dave Titmus(England International Coach)

At 5ft 6inch tall Andy new the odd's where against him to making it far in the world of basketball where the average height is well over 6ft 4inches tall. He knew he couldn't rely on natural talent, he would have to work extra hard both on court by perfecting his jump shot and using his quickness and dribble moves to get around the defence along with being in tremendous physical shape so he could out work his opponents and be strong enough to take the physical play of playing against much bigger and more talented players. His relentless passion and hard work paid off as he went on to play for MK Lions(BBL along with Ware Rebels(NBL Division 1), Thames Valley Tiger.

He is currently England Basketball Level 2 coach, Impact basketball Skill specialist, with over 18years of experience working within the gym. With his background and passion for the game you will receive the highest level of coaching plus he is a very friendly, humble & down to earth nice guy.

His goal now is to help share his knowledge and experience to up and coming basketball players to help guide them to become the best players they can become both on and off the court.

WHAT DO I ACTUALLY GET? 

Assessment

On court assessment of skills footwork, ball handling, shooting and movement patterns.

Strength and weakness will be highlighted and a plan of improving weakness whilst still including strength will be designed to ensure the player is improving each week.


On-court Skill session(1hr)

Each session will be designed to work on the areas of weakness agreed in the initial assessment. The session will be tailored to each player but will be high intensity with specific drills to ensure you are improving each and every week.


S & C Sessions(1hr)

A strength and conditioning program will be designed specifically for each player(16+)

This program is a vital part of the players development as they progress to a higher level, as a base of good movement patterns, lower & upper body strength along with great conditioning is the backbone to any player wanting to improve on the court. These programs are designed to help you get stronger but also to help prevent injury and hopefully enable you to play basketball for as long as you desire.

We will teach you the movement and how to perform each exercise with excellent technique and progress each session to ensure you are moving better and getting stronger and increase your conditioning level’s.

Progress is slowly but steady, we stress that this program is as much of an investment as working on your on court basketball skills, therefore it will take a lot of hard work, dedication and persistence.


Nutrition Plan

Food is your fuel, therefore we want to start to establish good eating habits and fuel your body with good whole foods. There is no strict diet we promote and teach eating good whole foods, fresh meat, vegetables, eggs, fruit and drinking lots of water.

We will provide you with a nutrition plan, list of food we recommend and we will help assist you in making better decisions and creating a healthier daily nutrition plan. 

This is a ongoing and long term commitment! There is no quick fix, it's educating each player on what to eat, why to eat these food's and it takes as much practice as your on-court basketball skills, so be patient! 

Remember proper nutrition and sleep are vital part for any basketball player wanting to improve, these can NOT to be overlooked if you wish to make improvement in your body and your game.


Homework

If you are truly going to make week to week progress on your body and game you will need to invest more time than once or twice per week with us here at Relentless. This means getting to a court on your own and mimicking the 1 on 1 sessions with us as best you can to continue your improvement.

Playing games and just shooting around are fun but will not make you a better player, you need to continue to work on the specific skills to become a great all round player.
